Alan Ross is the Managing Partner of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP’s Calgary office, as well as a partner in BLG’s Electricity Markets Group, where he specializes in all forms of administrative law, government relations and regulatory matters in the energy sector.
Alan has advised clients on energy and utilities regulation for over 20 years. Alan has practiced law in Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and the United Kingdom, with brief stints in government and investment banking.
Alan’s focus is the electricity sector, particularly facility approvals, toll/rate and tariff matters and power market regulation. He has been counsel on numerous proceedings, including ISO Rule disputes, Alberta’s first Market Surveillance Administrator investigation, and public inquiries involving natural gas and hydroelectricity. On a personal note, Alan was born and raised in Manitoba. He is passionate about all things regulated, and many things unregulated, and is planning to cycle between London and Paris this summer.
