Steve is an associate in both the Securities and Capital Markets and Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring practice groups of the Calgary office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Steve has broad experience in a range of corporate, commercial, and securities matters, including private placements and public offerings of securities, M&A transactions, formation and corporate structuring. He also routinely assists senior lawyers acting for secured creditors, as well as court-appointed receivers and monitors including handling issues arising with leases, royalty interests, liens and sales processes and transactions.
A born and raised Albertan, Steve returned home after attending school in Ontario with a strong interest in the local and national energy industry. In BLG’s Electricity Markets Group, Steve has assisted clients prospecting electricity projects with negotiating solar lease options, land use and permitting, and the AESO/AUC interconnection process. Notably, Steve completed work for a Quebec-based private renewable energy developer in acquiring two early-stage wind projects in Southern Alberta.

Steve grew up in Calgary’s hockey community and enjoys remaining active outside the office in the gym and through a variety of sports including skiing, golf, squash, and hiking.
